On the afternoon of June 26, 2023, Eastern International University (EIU) organized a scientific research seminar with the theme “Experience in Writing and Publishing Articles on Prestigious International Journals.” The keynote speaker for the event was Professor Zafar Uddin Ahmed from the International University, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City. The program was attended by a large number of EIU staff, lecturers, specialists, and students.
Professor Zafar Uddin Ahmed is the founder, chairman, and CEO of the Global Business Development Academy. He is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Global Business Advancement Journal and the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Business Development in the USA.
Under the theme “Experience in Writing and Publishing Articles on Prestigious International Journals,” Professor Zafar Uddin Ahmed briefly introduced information about publications in international scientific journals and the challenges researchers often encounter during the research process. Additionally, he shared with EIU about the skills of searching and selecting suitable international journals for articles. Professor Zafar Uddin Ahmed believes that the choice of journal depends on various factors, including cost, types of publications, target audience, measurement indexes, publication frequency of the journal, coverage and recognition of the journal, and more.
During the seminar, Professor Zafar Uddin Ahmed presented his experience in writing international papers, from choosing research topics, writing styles, to common mistakes in research articles. He also emphasized the importance of planning and researching, referring to reputable and innovative sources that are relevant to the current era before starting to write. As a result, EIU staff, lecturers, specialists, and students gained a better understanding of the submission process, as well as the criteria and methods for articles to have the potential for widespread publication in reputable international journals worldwide.
Scientific research is one of the key tasks emphasized by EIU in its development process. Accordingly, EIU continuously strengthens connections and enhances scientific research cooperation with external partners, businesses, local authorities, international universities, and creates opportunities for lecturers and students to engage in research and focus on improving the quality of university-level conferences. Furthermore, the quantity and quality of research articles published in reputable international scientific journals are considered as one of the evaluation criteria for the university’s scientific research output, which EIU particularly focuses on in this strategic group.
The seminar on “Experience in Writing and Publishing Articles on Prestigious International Journals” provided an opportunity for EIU faculty and staff to meet and exchange ideas with an experienced professor, learn and acquire important skills in the writing process. This contributes to enhancing writing capabilities and the quality of research articles, thereby contributing to the strong development of scientific research activities at EIU.
